Venue Safety

The first direct arena continually reviews its security measures in conjunction with West Yorkshire Police and other agencies. In light of recent tragic events, a further review has taken place. 

We also ask to please support and cooperate fully so our team can efficiently carry out these measures to ensure safety and ensure you are in the building in time for your show. 

We ask that you keep personal belongings to a minimum and only bring your essentials. Please do not bring any backpacks or large bags, as these will not be allowed into the arena.

You are permitted to bring small bags or handbags no larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm.

There will be no temporary storage facilities for such items within the venue and it will be left to the patron to find a safe temporary facility to hold the item. The venue will not be responsible for late admission or non-admission as a result of this policy.

What items are not allowed into the arena?

Backpacks, holdalls, luggage, oversized bags and cushions. 

In addition these items are also not permitted into the arena or anything else which we deem to ruin the enjoyment or viewing experience of others; 

Glass, cans, aluminium bottles or thermoses of any kind including liquid products which can be consumed.
Flammable liquids in any container
Laser pens/pointers
Video cameras and professional cameras
Laptop computers, IPads and Go Pro’s
Large/golf umbrellas
Knives or weapons of any kind
Illegal drugs or substances
Alcoholic beverages
Signs, banners or flags on poles, staffs or selfie sticks
Animals (except service animals to aid persons with disabilities)
Air horns, Whistles, Cowbells or other noise-making distractions
Projectiles (Frisbees, beach balls, footballs etc)
Aerosol cans (hairspray, deodorant etc )
Fireworks, confetti or glitter bombs or sprays
Use of wheeled footwear, skateboards
Masks and Helmets
Large studs and chains
Anything else which we deem to ruin the enjoyment or viewing experience of others.

first direct arena management have a zero tolerance policy to anyone found smoking inside the building.  It is our policy that all public areas are smoke free, to ensure patrons enjoy a smoke free environment. Smoking is prohibited in all enclosed and substantially enclosed areas and internal public areas of the Arena. There are two external smoking balconies located on level 2 of the Arena, at either end of the concourse.

If you are collecting tickets for the show, our venue box office will be open from 10:00am. The box office is located to the left of the main entrance, just past the fd bar. Please allow yourself plenty of time to collect your tickets and to get into the venue, as there may be queues. You may require to provide photo ID or the credit/debit card used at the time of booking, in order to collect your tickets.

Official merchandise can only be purchased inside the Arena.
There is no smoking inside the venue, this includes electronic cigarettes. Designated smoking balconies are available on Level 2
Helium balloons are not permitted inside the building.
Please ensure you keep your ticket on you at all times
Keep all personal belongings safe at all times
Our Meeting Point is located on the plaza outside the VIP entrance (to the far right of the main Arena doors)
At the request of the artist's promoter, no flash photography or recording equipment will be permitted inside the arena, so please leave these at home
Out of health and safety for your children please do not let your children stand on their seats.
